Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo narrowly avoids injury before Super Cup

Despite warming up alone and starting the evening on the bench, Cristiano Ronaldo did eventually make it on to the pitch in Skopje on Tuesday night.

Indeed, Ronaldo played a minor cameo after emerging from the dugout for the final eight minutes of Real Madrid's UEFA Super Cup victory over Manchester United.

However, it looks like the Portuguese superstar was lucky to be involved at all, as footage shows he came perilously close to injuring himself while alighting Real's team bus before kick-off.

Ronaldo slipped on a towel while descending the bus steps and actually did rather well to prevent himself ending up in a heap on the floor by quickly grabbing onto the hand rails provided.
